Did you know that 25% of Filipinos are overweight and about 6% are obese? This is according to the survey done by Food and Nutrition research Institute (FNRI) in 2011 and is expected to increase by 2015.

This is why Roche and Xenical have partnered with the Philippine Association for the Study of Overweight and Obesity (PASOO) to launch a campaign to help you rock your body to a better you. The campaign, dubbed “Rock The Fat Away”, addresses the serious problems of overweight and obesity, including safe and unsafe methods of weight loss. This edgy campaign reminds us that the key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight isn’t about short-term dietary changes. It’s about a lifestyle that includes a healthy diet, regular physical activity, and taking care of all aspects of our well-being.

C-Lium Lose More, Live More: The Final Journey

The C-Lium Fibre Lose More, Live More campaign ended last September 20, 2012 with a press conference held at the Medicard Lifestyle Center. I will miss this establishment because this is where the C-Lium campaign started, and where our bond and support group started.

Mommy and lifestyle bloggers were all prepped up during the event. Thanks to SM Ladies Fashion for our clothes and Mithi Lacaba of Tipping Point Collective for the styling, you made us more confident in flaunting ourselves in front of the media people. That night was a culmination and a celebration of our month-long journey to health and wellness.

C-lium Lose More, Live More Week 4: CrossFit Work-out

Week 4 of my C-Lium Lose More, Live More journey is the most memorable and action-packed of all. This week, C-Lium Ambassadors met up at the Philippine Army Gym for the CrossFit workout. CrossFit is new to me, so I visited their website first for me to know what to expect. And whoa, I got scared at first, at the same time, curious about CrossFit.

CrossFit workouts are constantly varied movements executed at high intensity, thus every workout is different and you will rarely do the same thing twice. The workouts themselves are completely scalable, which means that a new participant and an elite athlete can complete the same workout with changes in load and intensity. CrossFit workouts will deliver phenomenal fitness in and of themselves or as a compliment to your sport-specific training regime.

Basically, CrossFit is not your ordinary workout, but it is for ordinary people looking for extraordinary results.

C-lium Lose More, Live More Week 2: Small steps, but big impact on my health

My C-lium Lose More, Live More journey starts now

Ever since I gave birth (that’s one-and-half years ago), I never came back to my pre-pregnancy weight. And to make it worse, it seems that my weight is going anything but up. I always make this an excuse, “I’m a mommy and I need to eat to keep up with the demands of my toddler”.

Jeff already pointed out this to me, “We need to start living healthier so that we can live longer to witness and enjoy the growing up years of our daughter.”

We tried starting a healthy lifestyle by running and eating more healthy food. Unfortunately, the accessibility of fastfood and being lazy got us back into junk-food-eating-couch-potatoes.

Last month, I was invited to be part of the Bloggers’ Edition of C-lium Lose More, Live More program. Selected bloggers are challenged on a one-month weight loss and special prizes will be given to those with the biggest drop in BMI, bad cholesterol levels, and blood sugar levels. I’m really not after the prizes but I joined because I think I really need this as motivation for me to start on a healthy lifestyle again.

The New Way of Getting Healthy

Gaining weight is the one of the problems mostly women and even men too are facing of. That is because, aside from the extra weight that a person has, they can also get varieties of diseases that soon may kill them if not prevented. Thus, most of them or perhaps almost all of them are willing to try out all possible ways in losing excess fat in their body.

Being fat doesn’t mean you’re healthy, and being thin doesn’t mean sexy. A person is considered healthy if he or she is capable of doing things while not getting tired easily, or in other words- he or she is “physically fit”. Exercising is one of the ways most body builders recommend to people and it also comes with proper diet too. Of course, it is difficult for fat ones to achieve it directly but good thing that Vi challenge is here to help out those people who badly needs help in terms of weight loss.

On weight loss

I know this is not the right time to think about weight loss due to my pregnancy but I can’t help it. With my monstrous appetite at only 4 months, I expect to become bigger in the coming months. But I don’t have to worry on weight loss come next year because aside from breastfeeding which can contribute in helping me back to shape, I’m determined to continue and be serious about running. Besides, I bookmarked a particular site for future reference that discusses all about fast weight loss diet.

This is fairly a new site but I hope new interesting articles and diet tips will be published soon. I agree with what the author is saying about weight loss is about counting calories. It’s counting the calories you take in and also counting the calories burned through exercise. I like the fact that the author is also not into fad diets which are very common nowadays giving a lot of people falso hopes on their dream bodies or body weight. One advantage of the site is it doesn’t prohibit you in including your favorite foods when making a diet plan, just keeping everything in moderation, that’s what balanced diet is all about anyway. And still, the secret for a beautiful and healthy body, is diet and exercise.
