It’s fun being a nurse

If I weren’t an ECE graduate, I may be in a medical field like a nurse. Most of my cousins are nurses and med techs, sometimes I wonder how I ended up taking an engineering course which is a male-dominated field. Then I suddenly remembered that I’m afraid of blood and being inside a hospital often makes me sick, maybe because of the smell.

Back then, I pictured a hospital filled with nurses in their boring white lab coats and nursing uniforms. I can only imagine how hard it is to move around wearing immaculate white clothing. I find it too uncomfortable.

At present, we all know that nursing is one of the most in-demand courses, not only here in the Philippines but also abroad. Hence, plenty of nursing schools opened and so many nursing students and graduates that it almost reached a saturation. Hospitals in the Philippines now have plenty of younger nurses compared before, they maybe fresh graduates getting some experience for their course. And in keeping up with the times, scrub uniforms now catches the fancy of younger generation. They now come in a variety of colors, not just white, and also fun prints and patterns. It’s definitely an improvement that nurses enjoy and also patients like me too, they will surely pop out in those white hosptal walls and will add cheer to any hospital environment.

Now, who says nursing isn’t fun?

Vroom, vroom…

Motorcycles are slowly taking over our streets in Manila. With the chronic problem of traffic here in the Philippines, looks like everyone is hopping to motorcycle bandwagon just to cut their travelling time in half especially during rush hours. I still vehemently dislike the idea of buying or riding a motorcycle, more so here in the dangerous streets of Manila wherein everyday, you’ll hear news about motorcycle accidents.

One of my aunts also shares the same opinion in having motorcycles, but having two men in their household who ganged up on her to get her approval, she can’t say no. So off they went to a motorcycle store and made a downpayment for it, for just Php 4,500 as downpayment and Php 1,500 monthly terms, they can now take home their brand new bike. No wonder, every Juan can afford to buy a motorcycle, with these low downpayment and cheap monthly schemes.

BER months are here, make a list!

I can’t believe how time flies so fast! The last time I remembered it was only summer, how I complained about the scorching summer heat and now cold months are here. From my experience, when the calendar turned to September, it will be only be a few winks until Christmas. Last year, I made my Christmas list a little too late, but this year, I have to plan and list everything that I need to buy. Aside from gifts for loved ones and goddaughters/godsons, I have to really make an extra special list for our baby! Our baby will be born sometime in December and being first-time parents, I’m sure the baby will be showered with gifts.

On weight loss

I know this is not the right time to think about weight loss due to my pregnancy but I can’t help it. With my monstrous appetite at only 4 months, I expect to become bigger in the coming months. But I don’t have to worry on weight loss come next year because aside from breastfeeding which can contribute in helping me back to shape, I’m determined to continue and be serious about running. Besides, I bookmarked a particular site for future reference that discusses all about fast weight loss diet.

This is fairly a new site but I hope new interesting articles and diet tips will be published soon. I agree with what the author is saying about weight loss is about counting calories. It’s counting the calories you take in and also counting the calories burned through exercise. I like the fact that the author is also not into fad diets which are very common nowadays giving a lot of people falso hopes on their dream bodies or body weight. One advantage of the site is it doesn’t prohibit you in including your favorite foods when making a diet plan, just keeping everything in moderation, that’s what balanced diet is all about anyway. And still, the secret for a beautiful and healthy body, is diet and exercise.

Thank you!

As you have noticed, my blogging went into a slump. A lot of you already know the reason why, and I thought I was spared from pregnancy blues but my OB said that the 3rd month will be the peak of the pregnancy stage when I experience nausea, loss of appetite and fatigue. I usually post my pregnancy updates on The Misis Chronicles, visit if you have time.

Last month, Yuuki of It’s not always about me hosted a blog giveaway and Everything Nice! and Health and Beauty Geek are part of the sponsors. Part of the contest mechanics is to make a blog review on any of the sponsors. I was quite surprised that some took notice of my blogs and took time and effort to review my blogs. This is my first time to receive such compliments for my blogs, and after reading them, it made me want to start blogging about what I love again because there are some who really appreciates my posts and food photos. Again, thank you!

Thank you!
