Now a mommy!

Just peeking in to wish everyone a Happy new year! We celebrated our first Christmas as new parents to a healthy baby girl, Jessica Gwen.

baby Gwen

Hope you’ll all have a blessed 2011!

I won’t be back into regular blogging until the old folks give a go signal, you know those post pregnancy beliefs like binat

So bye for now and I’ll attend to mommy duties…

A boring personal post

Sometimes, I envy those people who have jobs that have flexibility in terms of working hours and days. Specifically, people with healthcare jobs like doctors. They can go to their clinics and accept patients even twice or thrice a week for just a few hours a day and they’re still earning enough moolah. Just a random thought because earlier, I called in sick for work because I’m not feeling well  (again) because of cough and colds, and suspected conjunctivitis (sore eyes). When I called the Medicard coordinator if there is a scheduled opthalmologist affiliated with my health card,  she said the doctor is available only on Friday. Geez, I can’t wait till Friday. Good thing the redness subsided and looks like it’s just irritated with the fumes/paint inside the house. Gotta get back to work tomorrow…

Buy me chocolates

I can really have simple pleasures in life. Buy me chocolates and I’ll be happy! My faves are Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Cadbury Three Wishes (discontinued *sad*), Hershey’s plain milk chocolate, dark chocolates, and Meiji chocolates varieties. When some of friends went to Universal Studios Singapore, they posted photos of the biggest Hershey’s chocolate bar I’ve seen, made me drool! Googled it and it’s big like the photo below:

Christmas mode ON

It’s first of December, and Christmas is really really fast approaching. I can really feel the rush especially when I’m in malls, all people are in the buying mode, bazaars are everywhere and midnight/warehouse sales are happening every week. While everyone is excited for Christmas, Jeff and I are excited for the best gift ever! Yes, it’s down to 4 weeks and we’re going to be parents. It’s nice to welcome 2011 with a new addition.

I’m still cramming, baby things and the baby room are not yet ready, and then it’s Christmas that’s why I have to hurry shopping and wrapping for presents. And some time next week, my high school friends will be throwing a simple baby shower, I’m thinking of making baby shower invitations if time permits.

holiday cheer

Meanwhile, let me spread some holiday cheer and show my BIG tummy, photo taken at the office, we had a mini contest of pimping up our own cubicles…

Choosing a car insurance plan

For car owners, do you have a comprehensive car insurance plan? Honestly, we don’t. When we first bought our car, that’s the only time that it has a comprehensive insurance but after 3 years, we only have TPL or Third Party Liability insurance plan which is required by the LTO for the car registration renewal.

We are always considering to avail one but we still can’t decide what insurance company is good. I’ve found one car insurance that targets lady car owners, Pink Wheels, tempting benefits too but I will let Jeff decide what car insurance plan he fancies. Besides, I can’t understand all the manly jargons such as extended warranty, manufacturer’s warranty, 5th wheel warranty, mechanical breakdown insurance, etc…

Happy birthday Daddy!

Happy birthday to the coolest daddy-to-be!

Jeff at Crown Regency Skywalk

We kept bracing ourselves that the little princess might come out so that they’ll have the same birthday since I’m already 34 weeks today. We just had a simple lunch at Mexicali in Mall of Asia with her sister after sending my aunt to the airport. He said it doesn’t feel like his birthday because he doesn’t want to think about his age. Age is but a number I guess…

I’ve been asking him what he wanted for his birthday and he showed me his Amazon wishlist (prepared!). But we’re gonna wait for the discounted prices on Black Friday before the splurge.
