Running with an umbrella? Safety tips on running during the rainy season

We all know that rainy season is the time when all you want is to stay in bed and be a couch potato. Like me, all I want is to eat, sleep and stay inside the house. But for some health buffs, rainy season should not hinder you from working out. If you’re really determined to work out, you wouldn’t let nature get in your way to fitness. With this in mind, Jeff and I decided to resume our running stint in UP. The UP Academic Oval is runner-friendly and biker-friendly because a separate lane is dedicated for such activity. Unfortunately, on my last lap, rain poured and I was drenched because I can’t run fast enough to get to the parking area. I also saw players from the baseball field carrying their baseball bats, gloves, and batting equipment, the rain also ruined their practice. So what to do? Should you carry an umbrella while running?

Touch a blogger: Tie a yellow ribbon for Cory Aquino!

The whole nation is once again united in prayers to support the former President Cory Aquino and her family. Cory Aquino has been admitted in the Makati Medical Center for over a month now. According to some press releases of the Aquino family, their mother is not in pain and comfortable. I just wish that God will give her strength to overcome the pain and suffering.

I am joining Barrio Siete’s campaign by posting a yellow ribbon on this blog as my way of support. Politics aside, Cory Aquino is a mother and if I were in the place of Kris Aquino or her siblings, I will be deeply crushed to see my mother undergoing this ordeal. With this, I’m also inviting other bloggers to join and Tie a Yellow Ribbon for Cory Aquino.

Updated version of Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009

I already made my Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009 weeks ago, but one entry was disqualified because I overlooked Jehan’s blog. She started blogging on March 2008, 2 months ahead of the qualifications to be able to included in the list. My apologies to Jehan, I felt guilty after reading her “Thank you post” but I’m still a fan of her writing. She already is influential, especially to her Korean-based blog community.

To complete my list, the talented doctor-slash-poet Doc Z of Zorlone enters the Top 10. I’ve known Doc Z and his blog through a small plurk conversation and now we’re plurk buddies. Had I discovered his poetry for a longer time, I’m pretty sure he’s already included on my first Top 10. He is influential indeed, he’s backed up by two influential bloggers on my list too, Kuya Roy of The Struggling Blogger and Jan of Writing to Exhale. Here’s what they have to say:

Karylle participates in National Children’s Book Day

I saw Karylle yesterday at SM Megamall’s celebration of National Children’s Book Day. She was the guest storyteller for the kids present that afternoon. Captured some shots of her during the storytelling activity. Dressed in a blue harem jumpsuit, studded gladiator sandals (which I love!), printed scarf, Blair-inspired headband, a big watch and chunky bracelets.

Here Comes the Health and Beauty Geek

Hello world! I’m starting my new blog about health and beauty. My main blog is overflowing with information from all sorts so I decided to make a new one dedicated to two things I love, Health and Beauty. I always try new beauty products out in the market, but only those that are friendly to the pocket. I try to live a healthy lifestyle nowadays so I’m shifting towards anything organic and natural.

I’m currently tweaking this blog so stay tuned for regular programming.

My pixie crop hairstyle by Acqua Salon

I’m now sporting a pixie crop ala-Katie Holmes hairstyle after my second visit to Acqua Salon in Trinoma. I want a drastic change for my long rebonded hair that’s why I opted for a short haircut. Clueless of what are the hair trends for 2009, I just requested for a really short haircut that will suit my facial features to my assigned stylist, Ms. Laila. I don’t want a bob hairstyle anymore since it’s so 2008. After a lavish shampoo and scalp massage, Ms. Laila proceeds with my haircuit. And the result…
