Agave Mexican Cantina for Mexican food cravings

Agave Mexican Cantina takes pride in serving authentic Mexican dishes in the Philippines. Our visit to their branch in SM Sky Garden at SM The Block proves it. I’m glad that there’s another Mexican restaurant that we can go to aside from Mexicali if we’re craving for some spicy Mexican food. The price is almost the same as Mexicali’s but Agave has an edge on the wide array of selections on their menu. Agave also offers cocktails and beers for late night drinking.

Credit card or debit card?

I recently wrote about how to save money using a credit card a few days back but not all Filipino consumers own one. For some, they simply don’t want to have a credit card because it’s just a temptation for them to spend more than they can actually afford. If a credit card is not appropriate, then a debit card is the right tool. A debit card is a prepaid card in which you only get to spend the amount loaded on your debit card. Use it in the grocery, gas stations, paying bills and wherever establishment the card is accepted, it works just like a credit card, only better. It is impossible to overspend so you can control your expenses and you won’t go into horrifying credit card debts. Another advantage is because it’s also a savings account, you get to earn interest from your money, not the other way around with a credit card.

Evil at Heart by Chelsea Cain

If you love books and you love reading thriller novels, then you must know Chelsea Cain, New York Times best selling author. Having gained success and a following on the first two books of the thriller series, Heartsick and Sweetheart, Chelsea Cain will be releasing the third installment of her series, Evil at Heart. Watch out for it on September 2009.

A review from Publishers Weekly about Evil at Heart:

“In Cain’s superb follow-up to Heartsick, damaged detective Archie Sheridan is back home in Portland, Ore., trying to resume a normal life. Archie’s ties to serial killer Gretchen Lowell still run deep, even if he’s stopped their weekly visits in prison. Meanwhile, reporter Susan Ward is finishing an article accusing a beloved U.S. senator of seducing his children’s 14-year-old babysitter a decade earlier. When three bodies are discovered in a local park—where Archie’s team found Gretchen’s first victim 12 years earlier—Archie worries another serial killer is at large. After the senator’s unexpected death, Susan discovers links between the sex scandal and the bodies in the park. When Gretchen escapes from prison, Archie knows he’s the only one who can stop her from killing. In Cain’s capable hands, Gretchen is both a monster and the only person who truly understands Archie’s pain. With its brisk pacing, carefully metered violence and tortured hero, Cain’s sophomore effort will leave readers desperate for more.” Publishers Weekly

Singapore’s EntrePass and Employment Pass

Planning to seek greener pastures and explore career opportunities in Singapore? Well, I also considered this option a few years back and tried sending applications online. I got some offers before but the salary is not enough to compensate the homesickness I will be experiencing once I’m there. I visited Singapore 4 years ago and I enjoyed my vacation, a clean and safe country to live in, no wonder most of my batchmates from Mapua are there to work. Jeff and I are still considering working in Singapore because of the encouragement we get from friends. They can help us look for a job in Singapore or refer us to their employers and once we’re hired, we are eligible for an Employment Pass. If we can’t get a job but we have money to start a business in Singapore, then we can apply for an EntrePass. Puzzled about the difference between the two, I made my own research for future reference in case we push through with our plans of relocating in Singapore.
