Protect your personal information

In this day and age, almost every activity can be done online. From getting in touch with your friends thru chatting and email, promoting your business through social networks, gaining information from Internet forum, shopping online from e-commerce websites, paying bills, online banking and so much more. Most of the time, websites you go to requires you to register before you can use the services or before you can interact with other members like in an Internet forum. For some sites, you can get away with just your nickname and some fictional address like “paradise”, “heaven”, etc…, but websites like an ecommerce site and online banking requires you to put in your real name, complete address, credit card information, email address, phone number and other sensitive personal information. You may think that giving your personal information to your trusted company’s website is secure enough, but think twice, no matter how advance the technology is, Identity Theft is a Problem .

Online security

How safe is your PC? Is your anti-virus software always up-to-date with the latest releases? Can your anti-virus software keep up with the latest viruses, malwares and spywares around the Internet? Does it have an extensive database of virus definitions out there? These are one of the things to consider when choosing the best antivirus software aside from the ease of use and its excellent performance.

Internet security is one of the primary concerns for people who are always online like me. This is a much needed tool for bloggers like me to protect their computers from being affected by a virus or a spyware. If you already have an antivirus installed, don’t just settle and be complacent about it. Even the most sophisticated websites like Facebook and Twitter also suffered from denial of service attacks (DDOS attacks) lately because of hackers trying to get in the system.

From time to time, I check some tech news to know the latest on computers and when there’s a new software released that has great reviews, I always update my own software to keep my PC protected.

Restaurant City is now serving drinks

Here’s something new for Restaurant City addicts! Aside from the 3-course menu (starter, main and dessert) that one can serve in his/her restaurant, game developers are making the challenge a notch higher by adding drinks to serve. Of course, in a real restaurant setting, a restaurant is not complete without drinks! Just like the gourmet dishes, you also have to search for the ingredients for your drinks like ice, lemon, lime, etc… Another addition to the game is that the player can now serve 2 dishes from each category. Playing Restaurant City is looking like a San Diego private banquet dining with all those mouth-watering dishes and drinks to serve. You might be wondering if there will be changes in your Restaurant City layouts due to the addition of drinks and questions to the daily food quiz, below are some of the opinions I got from RC players.

A new breed of social network

First, it was Friendster. Then MySpace, Multiply, Hi5, etc… Now it’s Facebook mania. But let’s face it, plenty of friends I know who are into Facebook are only hooked with its games and not by it’s ability to connect you with friends. Back when Friendster is all the hype, I would rejoice if I found a classmate way back elementary years. Thank God for technology, it surely finds ways to connect people. Until now, social networks are being used as another source of medium to advertise, campaign and connect other people.

Another type of social network is a social learning network called Course Hero. This type of network specifically caters to college students and professors as a platform to share learning materials depending on their courses. It’s like having a study group online. For example, for a Biology course, students can share BIO Lecture Note with other students and as well as professors. It’s a big help for students especially those who missed their classes and want to catch up with the lectures. If students have a BIO Test coming up, maybe they can arrange a study group to support each other throughout the course.
