Real estate investment

It’s been 5 years already since we bought our home, it’s in a subdivision in Dasmarinas, Cavite. Unfortunately, we’re still not occupying it yet because the unit is still bare, no partitions. Aside from that, we work in Quezon City and it’s impractical to travel that far. Back then, we were just so excited and overwhelmed that we’re going to buy a house. We searched for houses online and compared them with other real estates like Kansas city real estate or Missouri real estate. We have a friend who also lives in the subdivision and helped us in acquiring the house. We thought things will go smoothly and that our money will be enough for the completion of the house. We even consulted a contractor and interior designer but got dizzy with the quotation, damn expensive!

I’m really not sure if our decision not to pursue the house completion is right, we just let it stay there and think of it as an investment. Instead of putting the money in a bank, we bought a real estate that is guaranteed to yield more interest than in a bank. I’m sure of it because the prices of Missouri homes for sale increase year after year. This is not a smart idea but that’s the best we can think of.

Tire mishap

We just experienced one weird but really scary mishap on one of our car tires last Wednesday. On our way to work, we just noticed that the car was wobbling and Jeff suspected a flat tire. But upon inspection, that tire was bloated. It formed a huge bump on the part where it comes in contact with the road. I could not imagine how terrifying it would be if it burst while running on high speed. Thank God we’re safe!

I’ll post the photo once I get the details about the tire’s brand and if something similar happened to car owners. I wonder if tires are also covered in the insurance. What do I know, I’m clueless about cars.

Refurbished laptop computers

My nephew is now going to school and he enjoys it a lot. He’s always excited to show off his star on his hand because of an activity well done at his school. He likes ABCs, colors, shapes and matching games. He likes to play with my phone because I installed some apps from the Android market such as ABC puzzles and other kids games. Others think that too much technology might be bad for the kids but with my nephew, he’s also enjoying learning. I’m thinking of buying him a very cheap second hand laptop that’s why I’m on the look out for refurbished laptop computers that he can use just for playing and watching YouTube videos. This way, I can also have my phone back whenever we’re at home.

Catchy business cards

As a blogger and an online seller, I need a catchy business card that represents me and my business. Previously, I had my business cards made from Sugar Prints in Multiply, it’s scrapbook-inspired and I find it cute. I used it when I attended events but sometimes I envy some bloggers with more eye-catching cards than mine. My card is light-colored so it gets overwhelmed by other colorful business cards. Another thing is, I only have one card used for blogging events and for online selling purposes, to save money, LOL! But this time, I want to separate cards for blogging and business purposes.

Good thing I know some mommy bloggers who are into designing and business card printing services, maybe I can avail some mommy discounts too. =)

Kitchen improvement

As a housewife, I also need to look after the maintenance of the house. Gone are the days when I was still single that I only have to worry about clothes, shoes, bags and other trivial stuff. Now, I also include utilities, groceries, diapers, milk, yaya salary,  laundry, house maintenance and other payables in my to-worry list. Since we live in my parents’ house, we should also partake in taking care of it. Since it’s old, some things needed to be replaced or renovated. Such is the copper sink, it needs to be updated into a modern looking one. Unfortunately, my mother insists on using the same material, she likes copper sinks so we’re sticking to it. She likes to order at MR Direct because of low prices and they’re reliable too.

TV-less

After settling in our new final room, we’re now just rearranging the bed, cabinets and other storage containers. Yes, this room is small compared to my parents’ room where we stayed temporarily, airconditioned, bigger bed and has cable TV. Moving to a smaller room, we’ll just amuse ourselves with our laptops since we can’t bring our old bulky television because of the limited space. If we only have a budget for an LCD TV which we could hang in our stark white walls.

It’s funny how we sleep so early these days, it’s because we don’t have anything to watch except for Youtube or Facebook videos. I miss those weekends when we’re just lazing around and watching some Blu-Ray titles from Jeff’s collection. Now, the only amusement we have is Gwen, hehe. We play with her until she gets sleepy, after that, this TV-less couple either surfs the net or just sleep early.
