Get a Head Start on Christmas: Kids’ Stocking Fillers

It may only be the beginning of the autumn term at school but, now the kids are back in the classroom, it’s surprising how quickly the next few months will fly by. Before you know it, Christmas will be on your doorstep and, if you’re not careful, you will be completely unprepared and looking at the credit card to fund all the last minute buys.

Prepare for the New Arrival: Packing the Labour Bag

Whether you’re almost at term and getting impatient for the big arrival or you’re a little more organised and making sure you have everything ready to go, just in case, packing your labour bag is something that needs to be done in advance rather than in one mad rush as contractions start.

That perfect evening dress

I was watching The Buzz earlier and I was awed by gorgeous gowns worn by celebrities at the Star Magic Ball 2013. Celebrities like Kim Chiu, Shaina Magdayao, Kathryn Bernado, Dimples Romana, etc. must have put a lot of time and effort in looking great that at the Star Magic Ball. Kudos to their respective designers too because they came up with elegant dresses at the ball.

Oh how I wish it’s prom night again. So that I can experience another magical night, it’s fun to dress up once in a while you know. Years ago, it was so difficult to find nice and affordable prom or evening dresses. At our Graduation Ball, my mother suggested that we buy the materials and have my gown made by our trusty dressmaker. But I wasn’t happy with the outcome then, it’s far from the gowns I used to see in magazines but what can I do, we have limited resources (materials-wise, etc.) back then.

But ladies can now rejoice because there are plenty of options today to make your prom night, graduation ball or any other occasion seemed like a fairy tale come true. Aside from the very talented designers, there are sites like DressFirst that offers designer-like gowns but at an affordable price. You can choose the color and size, you can even have the size customized for a perfect fit.

Here are my picks from DressFirst:

A-Line/Princess Scoop Neck Floor-Length Tulle Prom Dress With Ruffle Lace

A-Line/Princess One-Shoulder Floor-Length Chiffon Prom Dress With Ruffle Beading Sequins

Empire Sweetheart Asymmetrical Chiffon Prom Dress With Ruffle Beading

If there will be a special occasion that requires evening gowns, I will definitely order from them.

Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen at SM Aura

The title can’t get any Japanese right? And yes, this is another ramen post. I love ramen! We were at SM Aura the other night, since it’s a new mall, the air-conditioning is colder than other malls plus it rained so it’s the perfect time to get our ramen fix. Oookay, honestly, we really intended to go to SM Aura just because we want to eat at Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen :p

Paisley Pretty [Site Makeover]

Have you noticed any changes here? I hope so. This blog has been up for 5 years already and it’s only now that I’ve decided for a make-over. It’s because this blog is my first love, it has more posts than my other blogs and I’m nervous to lose all of these posts during the site overhaul. But yeah, I took the plunge after moving to a reliable host and after deciding the site’s design. Of course, the only person that I can think of who can prettify my site is Patricia of Fancy Girl Design Studio. She already prettified my 2 blogs, and it’s now time to work her magic on this blog.

The Peg

Far from the floral background this site used to have, I want it to be just plain white. I want it to be clean. Buuut….. I want the header to be fabulous. But I tried to veer away from florals, cartoonish designs. I thought of Cath Kidston, but it’s too floral. And then I stumbled upon Vera Bradley patterns… paisley! OMG!

What to Do on a Bus from London to Paris

If you want to travel from London to Paris and decide to do so by bus, you should expect your journey to take around 8 hours (to Charles de Gaulle) or eight-and-a-half hours (to central Paris Bercy). But with some prices fixed at £35 with iDBUS you’ll consider the length of the journey a minor inconvenience, especially if you go prepared!

There are lots of things you can do to stave off boredom on a long bus journey but there is little you can do to improve your comfort if you have inadvertently chosen an old bus with basic facilities to travel in.  So the first thing you need to do is research bus companies that will take you from London to Paris that will do so in style.  You want comfortable seats, plenty of legroom, on board facilities like free Wi-Fi and plug sockets (to keep your electronic equipment going for eight hours).
