Good taste, great pairings with San Miguel Lifestyle Brews

Did you know that like wine, there are also certain food that can go well with beer? Beer pairings is what they are called. My husband, Jeff, is a beer fan, make it dark beer fan. His love affair with beer started even before we met, =).

Dimsum Break serves delicious and affordable dimsum in a dash

After the bloggers tour of Hello Kitty Village at SM North Edsa, I was famished but good thing Ross of WheninManila.com invited us again for another event, this time for the grand opening of Dimsum Break. Dimsum Break is popular in Cebu, that’s why they are bringing the dimsum goodness here in Manila. As the name suggests, Dimsum Break serves dimsum and Chinese food, but what makes them famous is their Steamed Fried Rice.

First time in Mezza Norte

There’s Mercato Centrale in BGC, Banchetto in Ortigas, Soderno in Molito, Alabang, and Legazpi and Salcedo weekend markets in Makati, all of these are tempting the foodie in me to visit at least one of them but they are too far. Alas, they finally realized that there are also foodies residing here in the North so Mezza Norte is born.

Mezza Norte is located at UP-AyalaLand TechnoHub and is open from Thursdays to Sundays, 6 pm to 3 am. We got there around 7 pm on a Thursday night and the place is already packed. Mezza Norte is a foodie’s paradise. Lots of desserts, street food (isaw!, barbecue, quail eggs), burgers, sausages, etc.

What I had…

Merry Moo ice cream, isaw, Manila Q’s Bagwang

My Yabu experience

Everybody is talking about Yabu! But this time around, I waited a bit longer and thought that maybe it’s just one of those overhyped promotion of a new restaurant. Heck, they already opened the second branch and the hype didn’t die down, so there must be something special about Yabu.

So when the opportunity came that we have to renew our passports at DFA Megamall, I know that it’s time to try Yabu.

The Yabu experience starts with grounding the black and white sesame seeds.

Gyu Gohan Japanese Sizzling Beef in 168 Mall

It’s our Divisoria day earlier! Jeff tagged along because he needed to check out fabric stores in Juan Luna and Ilaya for his DIY project. After his errand, we decided to roam inside 168 Mall, I bought a few accessories while Jeff just checked out some cool China-made house gadgets like alarm systems, flashlights, speaker stands, and cooking utensils.

It’s about lunch time so we headed to the new wing’s food court which is located at the 5th Level. You know how I dislike dining in food courts, so whenever I’m in 168, I always eat at McDonald’s, Jollibee, Chowking or Pizza Hut. But when I saw this new Japanese stall, Gyu Gohan, I decided to be more adventurous and try it with not so much expectations on the food.
