I finally joined the BB cream bandwagon. BB cream or Blemish Balm cream is the hottest beauty product craze in Asia and is slowly conquering other parts of America and Europe. It came from Germany, originally intended as after-treatment cream after laser surgeries. But the amazing results it gives caused others to use it in their beauty regimen. Soon enough, Korean actresses and actors use this too making it popular not only in Korea but in Asia as well.
I bought my BB cream loots from Trinketi’s Multiply shop, they have sample sizes of different brands of BB creams so that you can try what brand suits you best. I bought a 10 gram Dr. Jart Silver, 10 gram Etude House Precious Mineral #1 Sheer Silky Skin, 1 gram BRTC Gold Caviar, 1 gram Missha Perfect Cover in Shade No. 23. Laraine was generous enough to throw in another 1 gram of Missha Perfect Cover and a sample of Missha Perfect BB Deep Cleansing Oil.
So far, the only ones I tried are the Etude House Precious Mineral and Dr. Jart Silver. Both BB cream brands have received great reviews from make-up forums. I have yet to road test the BB creams for a few weeks though before concluding the results. Below are some swatches for your reference.
What’s in this BB cream? It is used as a moisturizer, sunblock, anti-wrinkle, concealer, make-up primer, skin whitener and oil-control. It is popular among make-up fanatics because it cuts the prepping time in half, imagine eliminating the need for a separate moisturizer, sunblock and make-up primer for your face. Just the BB cream and follow it with your mineral make-up or powder foundation and you’re all set in just minutes.
My only woe about BB creams is that they only come in one or 2 shades. Most of the BB creams are suited for people who are fair-skinned (sobs). I’m on the morena side that’s why the Etude House Precious Mineral I’ve tried doesn’t match my skin tone. I look ghouly, hehe… But I’ll try experimenting things on weekend by covering it with a darker shade of powder foundation to cover up the BB cream shade.
I suck at beauty reviews since I’m not a beauty junkie so I’m including the BB cream reviews I found on YouTube.
hi badet! don’t worry… just use the bb cream about minutes before you apply your powder since it will take a few minutes for it to blend with your skin. usually, kahit whiter yung shade, it will still look natural if you leave it a few minutes before following it up with your powder.
i have a 50mL of the missha perfect cover bb cream in no.23. i bought it because of it’s functions and darker shade but as months went by, my skin just got a bit oilier.
it’s even more expensive than Skin Food’s bb creams. anyway, if you’d ask me, i still love the whitening and pimple healing effects of VOV’s bb cream. the tube lasted me a whole year. you can check out their stall at SM North Edsa’s Department store-watsons. look for Matet or ate Grace if they still remember me (pakisabi na rin as in minadali ako ni alex to come here when i got my visa kaya di ko na sila nadalaw, kkk). they are generous enough to even give you a makeover just so you can try VOV’s products.

VOV’s eyeliners are the best so far… when i go to “화 장 폼” or beauty outlets here, since beauty products’ outlets are everywhere here, i always check their eyeliners. it’s the best so far…

hi!
I’ve got a couple of questions at the moment…
are these products available here in the philippines and if they are, where do i find them?
or are they exclusively bought just from korea? and can you recommend a product that gets rid of pimple marks?
koreans usually have such beautiful skin as i’ve seen from dramas, what products do they use to make them that smooth? and also about their hair, what kind of shampoo do they usually use to make it really shiny and look so silky?
after reading your post, i seemed to have gotten very curious about such things…
I’m sorry for asking so much…
THANKS!

I’ve got quite a collection of BB carmes myself, though most of them are from the less well known brands… Miraculously, I feel like whichever I get, it fits both my skintone and my normal-to-dry skin condition really well.
