There’s a new craft beer in town and it will make craft beer geeks enchanted with its fresh and bold brew. Last April 7, 2017, I had the most magical night during the launch of Engkanto.
The Manila House BGC was transformed into a lush greenery, the lights from the buildings around BGC also danced with the band’s new wave music (lakas maka-#tita hahaha).
It was a night filled with games, good food, music, friends, and enchanting brews of Engkanto beer.
Engkanto is the brainchild of Ian Paradies, founder of Napa Gapa Beverages Corporation, and Josh Karten, the brewmaster. They observed that beer was the one thing that all Filipinos still worshiped daily, so they created the perfect recipes.
Engkanto Brewery is positioned to deliver to Filipinos an obtainable craft beer that is brewed with high-quality and natural ingredients. They have 5 variants: Lager which is common and commercially available here in the Philippines, Blonde, Pale, IPA or india pale ale, and Double IPA. They also have limited brews from time to time like the Dalandan pale ale and stout (I LOVE THEIR STOUT!!!)
Though they are still brewing big batches for release to the public, I learned that their price points are surprisingly affordable. Most local craft beers are sold for over 100 pesos per bottle, but Engkanto will be priced below 100. Cheers to that!
