Get a Head Start on Christmas: Kids’ Stocking Fillers

It may only be the beginning of the autumn term at school but, now the kids are back in the classroom, it’s surprising how quickly the next few months will fly by. Before you know it, Christmas will be on your doorstep and, if you’re not careful, you will be completely unprepared and looking at the credit card to fund all the last minute buys.

Casio vintage watches haul

Casio vintage watches are hot items since last year. Fashion bloggers always wear it on their outfit posts especially the gold watches. I got tempted to buy from Multiply/Facebook shops but I managed to wait until our HK trip last November. Good thing I waited because I was able to choose, see and fit the actual watches before buying. Since I can’t choose one, I bought two watches and Jeff bought one for himself.

Casio models: AQ-230, AL190, and A158W

Neon accessories haul

Whenever I go to 168 Mall in Divisoria, I make it a point to maximize my visit there. I check out all the clothes, bags, shoes, kids clothes and toys and of course accessories! I’m a suki in one of the stores there when I was still selling accessories, now that I no longer sell, I still visit and buy from her for my personal use.

My loot, N-E-O-N!

Neon headband, stud earrings, and bracelets all under Php 300

Finally shopped at Uniqlo SM Mall of Asia

After its grand opening last June 15, it’s only now that I was able to visit and shop at Uniqlo. The lines during the first few days were phenomenal, I heard. Earlier, there were also plenty of people shopping but no lines to get in. But I have to fall in line for a few minutes in the fitting room.

Fine Fino

I always pass by at Fino whenever I’m at Trinoma. But I don’t enter the store because the storefront is quite intimidating (read: mukhang mamahalin) and I don’t have plans to buy for a leather wallet or bag. But when Jeff asked where we can buy a card holder that’s slim to carry all of his IDs and credit cards, I suggested that we look around at SM but he found nothing that suits his discriminating taste (yup, my husband is harder to please than me) I suddenly remembered Fino because of The Diplomatic Wife’s post. So we trooped to Trinoma and finally set foot inside Fino for the first time, the smell of leather greeted us.

We asked for their card holders and Jeff zeroed in on this:

Black Fino card holder, Php 495

Christmas Gift Idea: Towels and Linens

Here’s my first post about Christmas gift ideas, I hope to help in your Christmas giving needs. First suggestion would be towels and bed linens. Yeah it sounds generic but it’s very practical and useful. Everyone needs towels and linens for their homes. Too bad I wasn’t able to hoard much towels and bedsheets during the S&R Members Treat Sale last September.

But I hope to find great deals online from Ebay, Amazon or The White Company.

Tips before buying groupons

Groupons or group buying sites became a hit this year, and the list of groupon sites or group buying sites are increasing. Who would resist a 50% off deal from a posh hotel, a fancy restaurant, a travel deal, etc.? I am registered with plenty of group buying sites too, CashCashPinoy, Ensogo, Awesome.ph, Deal Dozen, Deal Grocer, even Ebay has Ebay Kuponan. I get pumped up just by receiving their emails in my inbox everyday and how much I can save if I availed of the deals. I got groupon crazy, I bought deals right away, sometimes buying two coupons for that deal. Blame it on my Gcash wallet and Paypal, I have enough “virtual” funds from both that it’s very easy to just buy online with a few clicks.

But can groupons really provide savings? Or it’s just a false economy? I’ve had my share of expired and unused groupons because I realized that it’s too far and I’m too lazy to find a hidden establishment in Makati. The 2 vouchers from Shui Hilot Spa also expired because they can only accommodate me during their off-peak hours, and that’s the time I’m at work. I learned my lesson and managed to keep my groupon buying at a minimum.

Here are some tips before buying those irresistible deals online:
