Mango-ong

While at the SM North Edsa Sky Garden, I noticed a long queue in one of the food carts, turned out that they are lining up for Mango-ong. Mango-ong, a stall that sells green mangoes and singkamas with bagoong or shrimp paste. The lowly mangga’t bagoong often seen in carts in the streets leveled up into a foodcart in malls just like the ice scramble.

I bought one for take-out. 1 cheek of green mango is Php 20. They charge you for the take-out box though, and also for the extra scoops of bagoong.

They have different flavors of bagoong: regular; regular spicy; sweet, sweet & spicy; extra hot, salty; and salty & spicy. I had Sweet & Spicy.

For those who are wondering about Mango-ong franchise, they are NOT OPEN FOR FRANCHISE. They posted this message in their foodcarts as well:

  2. Mango-ong IS NOT OPEN FOR FRANCHISE. But there’s a poser offering franchise packages, fooling Filipinos and stealing their hard-earned money. He will seem legit BUT he isn’t! I received an offer on Facebook! BEWARE!
