Starbucks Hong Kong’s Mooncakes

You know it’s the Mid-Autumn Festival or the Mooncake festival when mooncakes are abundant. During our Hong Kong vacation last week, I’ve seen a lot of stores selling mooncakes. Even the posters at MTR stations advertises all kinds of mooncakes, from traditional ones to mochi-filled ones.  But what caught my eye are the ones sold in Starbucks. I thought I can buy the lotus filled ones with salted egg yolks here in Manila but not the Starbucks mooncakes because they don’t sell it here. I bought 1 box of Starbucks mooncakes from Hong Kong as pasalubong, I wish I had plenty of luggage space so that I can buy more mooncakes from other stores.

Starbucks Mooncake comes in a very elegant gift box containing 8 individually wrapped pieces of mooncake. I paid 288 HKD (around Php 1,700) for 1 box, aside from the 8 pieces of mooncakes, I also got 2 Starbucks drinks coupons.

Starbucks Mooncake Classic Gift Set

The Classic Gift Set is available at Starbucks Hong Kong and Macau stores. Let’s check out the 4 flavors offered by Starbucks for Mid-Autumn Festival 2015.

Salted Caramel Mochi and Chocolate

Moist, chewy mochi encased in decadent Starbucks salted caramel chocolate filling, the discerning taste and texture of each ingredient converge delicately to create an irresistible temptation for your taste buds. Being a mochi and chocolate lover, this became my instant fave!

Green Tea Mochi and Red Bean

Distinctive Starbucks green tea aroma complemented by gently sweet red bean filling and a soft chewy mochi, uplifting the overall taste complexity and creating an unparalleled tasting experience. I find the green tea flavor amiss because of the overpowering red bean taste. But isn’t it pretty to look at?

Hojicha Tea and Osmanthus

Aromatic Starbucks hojicha tea skin paired perfectly with sweet-scented osmanthus filling, this Asian-styled combination will certainly delight everyone.

Espresso and Almond

Perfect match of Starbucks Espresso and crunchy almonds, making a scrumptious treat that all coffee lovers cannot resist! This also won my heart along with the Salted Caramel Mochi and Chocolate.

I wish these are available here as it will be perfect to give as gifts. Anyway, where do you buy your mooncakes here in Manila?

  13. I find mooncakes expensive, so I seldom buy. Lol! I’m interested in the Espresso and Almond mooncake, by the way. I wish Starbucks Philippines will make those mooncakes available to its customers, too.
