Christmas season is upon us and here in the Philippines, this joyous season starts as early as November. SM Supermalls rings in the holiday season with its biggest, grandest, and best celebration yet. Each SM Supermalls in the country has different themes accompanied with exciting activities and events. Last November 7, 2014, I was invited to a Royal Ball entitled “The Princess in Me” at The Block, SM North Edsa. The launch is in partnership with the iconic toy brand, Barbie.
It was an eye-candy especially for Barbie and pink lovers.
The event was hosted by Raymond Gutierrez and Denise Laurel.
Royal Activities
Little girls can have their photo taken with their favorite fairy tale characters like Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, etc.
The little guests felt like a true royalty because of the free pampering stations such as nail salon, hair salon, and face paint.
Even the food served to the royal guests were too pretty to eat.
The main event is the lighting of the Christmas Tree made of gowns. Guests were delighted with the candy-colored lights of the giant gowns. Come witness them light up every 30 minutes from 11AM to 8PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until January 4, 2015.
SM Bears of Joy
Aside from the giant tree made of gowns, there’s a smaller Christmas tree at the entrance adorned by teddy bears. It’s part of the SM Bears of Joy program. For just Php 200, get a chance to adopt 1 teddy bear and give the other one to children from various charitable institutions. Children from Child Haus, home for children with cancer, were present at the event.

Royal Fashion Show
Nikki Gil serenaded the royal guests with some Christmas songs. A fashion show featuring the latest holiday collection from SM and Barbie commenced.

I have to hand it to SM North Edsa for thinking of the best themes during the Christmas season, it puts a smile on the face especially to the girls. Last 2012, their theme was Hello Kitty, this year, it’s Barbie!
