I made the perfect smoothie at Jamba Juice!

Published by under events,food,restaurants

Last summer, I was invited to the opening of the newest branch of Jamba Juice. Health buffs can now grab a cup of their favorite smoothie at EDSA Shangri-la Mall.

“We have always been vocal that expansion is a commitment for the brand,” shares Sharon T. Fuentebella, Managing Director of Jamba Juice Philippines. “We want our products to be more convenient for those who find Jamba Juice as a brand complementing their lifestyle, hence, we’re jambafying the places our market wants them most.”

At the opening, I was lucky to get behind those counters and make my own smoothie. It’s one of the coolest experiences because I got to see how my smoothie is made, from adding the fruit juice and the fresh ingredients down to blending it to perfection. Jho of Jamba Juice, EDSA Shangri-la Mall showed me how to make by perfect Strawberries Wild smoothie.

Tiger Airways now flies from Kalibo to Singapore

Published by under travel

Just last month, we were able to fly to Laoag from Manila, thanks to Tiger Airways’ seat sale. I’m glad that Filipino travelers will have plenty of airline options to choose from.

Known as the leading and most trusted value-for-money carrier in Southesast Asia, Tiger Airways Philippines will make its formal debut in the skies beginning July 10, 2013.

“Tiger Airways is the leading airline and travel partner connecting people across Asia Pacific. It is a distinguished regional brand that differentiates itself in terms of safety and reliability,” says newly-appointed president and chief executive officer (CEO) Ms. Olive Ramos.

Committed to bringing its customers its brand of friendly, high-quality service,  and excellent standards of security,  Tiger Airways Philippines promises to make travel around Asia more enjoyable.

Currently, Tiger Airways flies to Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong from Manila and Clark. Locally, it serves travelers going to Laoag, Bacolod, Kalibo, Cebu, Iloilo Tacloban and Puerto Princesa.

Next month, Tiger Airways will add another feather to its cap when it marks a milestone – the Kalibo and Singapore route, the first and only airline to offer such route.

“We embrace the simple belief that travel is about bringing people closer to their dreams and about enabling great experiences, and memories,” adds Ramos.

The new Tiger Airways Philippines will offer great value and seamless experience. Together with the Filipino personnel’s warm and hospitable traits, the airline will be “the one to beat” in the coming years, she adds.

The birth of Tiger Airways Philippines brings along with it the technology and business savvy of Tiger Airways as it offers travelers greater accessibility to the rest of Southeast Asia. It does not only commit to high performance standards and innovation, it also confident about keeping its venture more sustainable for stakeholders.

Tiger Air embodies a ‘can-do’ and respectful spirit, according to Ramos. “We will continuously pursue for roaring excellence. We are going to be the airline of choice!”

10 km done! Run United 2 2013

Published by under events

This is my first 10 km race, and yes, I have no choice but to do a 10 km because that’s the shortest distance for Run United 2. The other distances are 21 km and 32 km (Afroman Distance). I figured I can do 4 to 5 rounds around the UP oval which is about 2.2 km, so finishing this 10 km is possible (lakasan ng loob). Jeff ran the 32 km, their gun start is at 3 am. We barely slept! We have to leave the house at 1 am. We were at the Mall of Asia at 2 am because we were worried on the long queue at the parking area. Thankfully, the parking area opened minutes after we arrived.

At 3 am, it’s race time for the 32 km runners.

Biscoff Spread, finally!

Published by under food

The cookie butter craze started late last year, I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of Biscoff vs. Trader Joes Speculoos Cookie Butter showdown on Instagram. I heard someone said, it’s like peanut butter. So I thought, I’ll just make do with my peanut butter instead. Okay…another reason is that ALL cookie butter sellers don’t have on-hand stocks anymore. One seller has a waiting list until July, yeah, that long!

What is Biscoff?

Biscoff Spread is a sweet, creamy spread made with Biscoff Cookies (57%). It is a delicious European alternative to peanut butter or chocolate spread. It is excellent on toast, in a sandwich with jam or even on apples.

When I chanced upon Cookie Butter Philippines on IG announcing that she has 1 jar of Biscoff left for Php 480, I immediately reserved and paid for it first thing in the morning. Hoooray! I’ll be having my first jar of Biscoff cookie butter!

So it arrived…

JV Estrada answers all

Published by under Press Release,Uncategorized

UNA Senatorial candidate JV Estrada has consistently been in the top choices for the senatorial polls, reaching as high as #3 in the March 2013 Social Weather Stations survey. In the latest Pulse Asia survey, conducted April 20-22, 2013, Estrada was in the 5-11 ranking.

It’s because he is not one to shy away from interviews. Cong. JV Ejercito Estrada has answered most every kind of question in the run up to the Senate elections in May. From naughty [What age did you lose your virginity?, The Bottomline with Boy Abunda, Feb 9, 2013] to nice [What is your biggest accomplishment as San Juan Mayor and how would you translate this into legislation?], Estrada has shown to one and all that he not only has the track record to back up his Senate bid, but also the gift of gab that will liven up the august Senate halls.

Rediscovering an old fave: A visit to Aristocrat Restaurant Subic Branch

Published by under food,restaurants

Aristocrat is one of the first restaurants I’ve known since childhood. I remember their branch in Grand Central in Monumento, my favorite is their Chicken Barbecue and Java rice. We would always eat there on Sundays and on special occasions. There are a lot of new tastes and restaurants that I’ve tried since then, but whenever I pass by the Aristocrat at Roxas Boulevard, I can always say that they have indeed the best Chicken Barbecue in town.

I had the opportunity to rediscover the Aristocrat restaurant. This time, we visited their Subic branch. The Aristocrat in Subic is the first franchise of the restaurant, having met the stringent requirements of the Reyes family before approval.

Aristocrat Restaurant has a very good location in Subic, you can’t miss it because it’s just beside Harbor Point Mall.
