Tips for a healthy scalp

The press kit for Novuhair came with these tips for a healthy scalp and prevent hair fall. 10 tips for all of us to take care of our crowning glory:

hair care tips

1. Keep yourself hydrated and maintain a healthy diet.

This prevents your scalp from drying. Dry and dirty scalp causes dandruff flakes and itchiness.

2. Massage your scalp regularly.

This helps blood to flow in the scalp thus promoting hair growth. A good massage also soothes nerves and relaxes the muscles in your head.

3. Know the ingredients of your hair products.

Chemical-based hair products contain harmful substances that may damage your scalp and hair. Using products with natural ingredients is highly recommended.

4. Avoid using hot water.

One of the main causes of dry scalp is shampooing with hot water. This can strip essential oils from your scalp and cause dryness. Wash your hair with lukewarm water and try to avoid excessive blow drying.

5. Comb hair gently.

Hair stands must be lightly combed so the scalp won’t get damaged. It also helps if you use a good, clean comb, one that won’t hurt your scalp. By carefully combing your hair, you release essential oils which can help strengthen the hair.

6. Avoid applying hair care products directly on the scalp.

You may suffer allergic reactions if you apply hair products such as gel, wax and mouse directly on your scalp. Thoroughly wash all these products from your hair and scalp to prevent further irritations.

7. Avoid frequent hair treatments like coloring and perming.

Chemicals in hair dyes cause scalp redness and irritation. Always check with your stylist the product he uses on your hair.

8. Do not use tight caps and hats.

Frequent use of tight caps and hats causes hair fall because this cuts circulation to the hair follicles. Use caps and hats that fit perfectly.

9. Get regular hot oil treatments

A well-moisturized scalp fosters hair growth. Hot oil treatment prevents scalp dryness and helps improve over-all hair appearance.

10. Try to live a stress-free life.

It is true that stress causes hair fall. People who suffer from emotional or physical stress may experience sudden hair loss. Try relieving stress by exercising regularly, having the right diet and getting enough sleep.

  5. Hi There Healthandbeautygeek,
Maybe a little off topic, however, There is a standard false impression that balding will mean there is a product improper with the scalp. But basically because hair literally starts off increasing from underneath the scalp, the scalp by itself has minor to do with hair decline or hair well-being. When hair reduction occurs for the reason that of male genetic hair reduction (or any other produce), the blood provide to the area drops considering it isn’t really required wherever there isn’t really any hair. When surgeons transplant new hair, the circulation in the scalp improves as the new hair grows out (in effect recruiting the blood provide it requirements).
