Philippine Spring Cleaning Day

It’s about time that we pay attention to the cleanliness of our environment. A lot of diseases are caused by poor cleaning and sanitation. And the perfect place to start cleanliness is inside our homes. You might think you’re protected from germs when inside the house, not! Germs are everywhere, you might be surprised that the light switch and fridge handle can have the same amount of bacteria as your toilet seat.

Use Lysol for cleaning and disinfecting

Your sanctuary, the bedroom, can also be a breeding ground for germs and bacteria. As you sleep soundly on your bed with microfiber upholstery, you might also be sleeping with the enemy, germs and disease-causing bacteria. Simple cleaning tips like making the bed, wiping room ornaments, place dirty clothes in the hamper, dispose trash properly, mop and vacuum the room are one step closer to cleanliness.

Set a schedule for cleaning and disinfecting. Do it twice a month and use products you can trust to do a good job of getting rid of the bacteria and viruses. After cleaning your room, it is equally important to disinfect surfaces to destroy hard-to-kill disease-causing organisms. Lysol®, for instance, a brand that has been trusted worldwide for over 100 years, kills 99.9% of germs in 30 seconds. As such, it is the #1 disinfection brand recommended by pediatricians.

  1. Wow! I actually love the idea of spring cleaning! I hope they declare it a holiday! That way, my hubby can join in the cleaning. 😀

  2. I find it odd that it should be titled Sprig when May is a summer in the Philippines. Why do Filipinos always need to copy everything —even a season from the Westerners? Why can’t it be called “Philippine Summer Cleaning Day”—that’s more appropriate, catchy and original?

  3. I’m actually really excited for a general spring cleaning day! regardless of what it’s called, I know we need to do something about the state of cleaning and sanitation here in the country 🙂

  4. Does this Philippine Spring Cleaning Day also includes the Payatas? because there are a lot to be cleaned there. Joking aside, I love the idea of Spring Cleaning. Because its that time of the year where we thoroughly clean our home or room. Paying special attention to every nooks and crannies. And this is also the chance to dispose of all those accumulated unwanted things we acquire.

  5. I don’t know how much your seasons vary, but here in the U.K. we are real glad to see spring turn up. Winter storms can leave our gardens in a real mess and so spring tends to be the time when we make a start at cleaning up.
Keep the spring cleaning tips coming.
