Happiness inside the Bag of Beans

It’s a pre-Valentine’s weekend, and like I said before, I’m not a fan of V-day. But Jeff asked me to spend the weekend atop the mountain (Mt. Batulao) and in the cool breezy Tagaytay. It’s been more than a year since my last climb, why not? And so we had a day hike at Mt. Batulao which I will write after my sore muscles are gone, hehe. After the climb, I was so hungry that I’d like to eat at the nearest carinderia, Ate Fe’s, and order a piping hot bulalo. But Jeff wanted a more relaxing ambiance so I suggested Bag of Beans which I saw earlier.

Bag of Beans Tagaytay can’t be missed because it’s located along Aguinaldo Hiway. It has a quaint and rustic facade fit for a relaxing ambiance of Tagaytay.

Bag of Beans, Tagaytay

inside Bag of Beans

The smell of coffee and fresh bread wafting through the air as you enter Bag of Beans. Inside is the bakery and a small dining area with wooden chairs and tables. I like to dine here instead of the bigger dining area downstairs. It’s like having merienda at a home in the province while the sun sets and the chirping birds in the background.

On the table, Chicken Parmigiana with Mashed Potatoes and vegetables on the side, Php 295

Chicken Parmigiana

Juicy and tender slices of chicken dipped in bread crumbs, fried to achieve the perfect crunch, smothered with melted cheese and tomato sauce. Chicken is flavorful even if I just eat the meat alone without the sauce and breading. I like the fresh chunks of tomatoes too. I like to have more cheese though, but it’s just me. Mashed potato has that melt-in-your-mouth consistency, but I like to have a gravy paired with it.

Roast Beef

Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes and vegetables, Php 320. Thinly sliced 3 pieces of beef with a flavorful sauce. This is a perfect dish, mashed potato with a slice of beef make an awesome pair for those who have big appetite. The sauce compensates the lack of gravy of the mashed potatoes.

Strawberry Milkshake

Despite the chilly weather that afternoon, a milkshake provided comfort for our thirsty selves.

Too bad we weren’t able to try their breads and coffee, but I made Jeff promise that we’ll come back here. He wants to ride his mountain bike around Tagaytay once he gets thule bike racks for our vehicle.

Forget Starbucks when you’re in Tagaytay, go to Bag of Beans instead.

  1. Bag of Beans. Something we totally missed when we went to Tagaytay to celebrate the new year. We need to have that in our itinerary soon. The roast beef and strawberry milk shake is just too tempting to miss. Have you tried their pies? I originally wanted to try one of their meat pie but like I said, your photos changed my mind.

  2. Is their only branch in Tagaytay? I’d like to ask BF to go pero it’s kinda far and schedule doesn’t permit. Pero I wanna go there hopefully this year (ang tagal ng deadline, haha) πŸ˜›

Madali lang naman pumunta since it’s along Aguinaldo Hiway. I think that’s their only branch but I heard their pies are sold in Alabang Town Center.

  7. Hi,Badet!

Thanks for being a faithful patron of Bag of Beans! I just want to correct your followers that Bag of Beans don`t have any branch or sister outlet anywhere outside Tagaytay! In case this outlet in ATC still exists, two things are possible: they bought it from us and re-sold them in their store(which we are not aware of since nobody orders from us in bulk!) OR they are imitating our products to mislead our customers!

More power to your blog site and oopps! Before I forget, let me know when you are around so I can thank you personally!
