Singapore is bike-friendly

It’s no secret that my husband is an outdoorsy type of person, he loves mountain climbing, running and his present hobby, biking. He bought a mountain bike as a birthday gift for himself last year. Unfortunately, save for 1 or 2 biking activities he joined like the Tour of the Fireflies, he still can’t maximize the use of his bike. One reason is that we still don’t have a yakima bike rack that lets us bring the bike somewhere far where bike trails are abundant like Laguna or Rizal. Another reason is that our roads and sidestreets are not bike-friendly. So when we went to Singapore, he’s green with envy with plenty of bikers around and wished that Manila will be the same. We saw plenty of folding bikes there.

Plenty of parked bikes can be found beside MRT stations and malls. Bikes are one mode of transportation of Singaporeans, less traffic and less pollution.

A walking video tour of Makansutra Gluttons Bay, Singapore

En route to Marina Bay Sands, we found out that Helix Bridge was closed because of a celebration that day. So we took a detour to the nearest taxi stand and we found ourselves savoring the atmosphere and feasting our eyes on gustatory delights of Makansutra Gluttons Bay.

Cockles!

On our first night in Singapore, we immediately had a semi-reunion with college friends at East Coast Park food village, a hawker place. It’s Friday night and there are a lot of diners in this open area hawker place. Our friends ordered food, chili crabs, satay, stingray and cockles!

Kabayan Beach Resort in Laiya

We just had our company outing at Kabayan Beach Resort in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. Every year, we are looking forward as to where our summer outing will be, last year was Boracay, this year is at Kabayan Beach Resort. Although the beach in Batangas is incomparable to Boracay, I’m still excited because we can bring Gwen along, hence making it our firs family outing. I love my company because they allow employees to bring their families, so it’s not only for team building purposes but also as family bonding as well. It’s also an opportunity to get to know the families of their employees.
