Agave Mexican Cantina for Mexican food cravings

Agave Mexican Cantina takes pride in serving authentic Mexican dishes in the Philippines. Our visit to their branch in SM Sky Garden at SM The Block proves it. I’m glad that there’s another Mexican restaurant that we can go to aside from Mexicali if we’re craving for some spicy Mexican food. The price is almost the same as Mexicali’s but Agave has an edge on the wide array of selections on their menu. Agave also offers cocktails and beers for late night drinking.

Sweet Starbucks

Let me just end this week with desserts from Starbucks. A perfect ending for a busy week that was and an exciting beginning for an eventful weekend. By the way, Starbucks Trinoma branch is celebrating their anniversary, the barista was generous enough to give me a coupon that entitles me for a free drink on my next visit, sweet!

Chicken Mami House

A cold, rainy and windy day deserves a hearty hot bowl of soup. We just had Spicy Beef Noodles from Chowking the other day and this time in Trinoma, we were surprised to see a new resto at the Cinema levels, the Chicken Mami House. It’s between Mexicali and Jamaican Patties so moviegoers won’t miss it. The simple name says it all, MAMI! We ordered their specialty called Binondo Mami which has siomai and lechon macau on it. Jeff also ordered Bola-Bola siopao and 5 pcs. and siomai.

New desserts from Greenwich

Greenwich, my favorite fastfood-of-the-moment brings in new desserts to their menu. If there’s one thing I look forward to after a meal, it’s dessert. The new desserts offered are the very reasons why I keep coming back every week, aside from their lasagna. First off is the Overstuffed Brazo de Mercedes, Php 99. Overstuffed means there’s more custard filling than the meringue part which I love. I’m really not a fan of icings and meringues, so the creamy yellow custard filling is a treat for me. It’s not sickly sweet either, but one serving of this can be shared by two people to lessen the guilt.

Hong Kong food trip

Food and travel are a perfect combination, by sampling the local cuisine, you also get to taste a country’s history and rich culture. Albeit my husband’s non-adventurous tastebuds, he willingly gave in to my demand, food tripping Hong Kong’s cuisine. Some restaurants are not authentic Chinese but these are the food places recommended by other HK travellers.

Visita Iglesia and The President’s Tea House

I spent Maundy Thursday together with Nanay visiting churches or what they call Visita Iglesia. This is a popular tradition in the Philippines during Maundy Thursday, during which people will visit church/churches and do the Way of the Cross or Stations of the Cross. This is done to recall the sufferings of Jesus Christ during the last few hours of His death.
