Jellicious Nestle Fruit Selections

Last week, I received an invite from Nuffnang for their Laughter Yoga event and the launching of a new product from Nestle, the Nestle Fruit Selections yogurt+jelly. Intrigued with the new product and if it tastes as yummy as the existing yogurt fruit selections, I searched for it at the dairy aisle in the nearest supermarket.

Icebreaker Scrambles, anyone?

I’m sure everyone knows about ICE SCRAMBLE! It’s that pink ice shavings with powdered milk and chocolate syrup on top that we often see in a cart in front of our schools before. It’s one of those food that our parents didn’t allow us to buy for hygienic purposes, along with sago, sweet corn, barbecue and other street foods. But for the heck of it, I’m one of those hard-headed kids that bought them once and enjoyed it, thankfully I’m still alive after all those bacteria and microorganisms lurking on those street foods.

Estrel’s Caramel Cakes

Estrel’s Caramel Cakes is one of the few names whenever specialty cake suggestions are asked, along with Dulcelin’s Mango Torte which I love. And because of all the raves for Estrel’s Caramel Cakes, I ordered one for my mother’s birthday. I ordered one day in advance since their cakes are made to order. I ordered for their 8-inch round cake with caramel filling for Php 600. The person I talked to on the phone was nice enough to ask if I want to put a message on the cake for free, so I gladly asked to put a birthday note.

Grilled Tomato

Finally a food post! It is evident that Jeff and I love Persian food, our ultimate Persian food discovery is Shomal Kebabs and Curries but it’s admittedly so expensive and we can’t afford to dine there whenever we crave for some Persian food. Grilled Tomato is the answer for our Persian food cravings, it’s along Tomas Morato that’s why it’s near the office and the price is really affordable. The Beef Kebab meal that comes with iced tea is only Php 100.

Kiss the Cook Cafe: The Maginhawa Street series

Maginhawa Street is a foodie’s paradise. I often pass by Maginhawa St. 2 years ago when I was still working along C.P. Garcia. Lunch time and after office hours, you’ll find me and Jeff at one of these places, Friulli Trattoria, Sisig Boy, Ababu or Tomato Kick. Now, although our office moved to a different place, we pay Maginhawa St. a visit after jogging in UP to rediscover old places and find new food joints that surely adds charm in this busy street.

Kiss the Cook Cafe (59 Maginhawa St., UP Village, Diliman, Quezon City)

Kiss the Cook Cafe is near BPI and in front of Holy Family School, 2 years ago, Sisig Boy was in the same location but I assume SB closed down. Kiss the Cook Cafe’s interiors and ambiance makes you feel that you’re dining in an upscale resto in Makati. Kiss the Cook Cafe did not scrimp on designing the restaurant with its neutral walls, elegant lighting, wooden tables and comfy sofas.

Spicy Cheese Rolls aka Dynamite Sticks recipe

Spicy Cheese Rolls/Dynamite Sticks recipe: If you’ve been visiting bars and some Mexican restos, you might know this appetizer. I first had it at Mogwai Bar in Cubao Expo, listed as Dynamite Sticks. Jeff and I really liked munching on this so we made this at home.
