Beauty Credit’s Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch

Blackheads and whiteheads, especially in the nose area, are any vain person’s worst enemy! No matter how many times you get rid of them, they keep coming back. But hey, I’ve found my holy grail and I’m spreading the news! Remember those pore strips for the nose you’ve found in the malls that promises to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads but didn’t? I’ve tried any brand possible during my teenage years but all that’s left is a sticky nose with blackheads and whiteheads still.

Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch from Beauty Credit, Php 35 each

How to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads? A perennial question that requires perennial search over that one effective solution. I hope my latest beauty haul will be the answer to my problem. I’ve been buying Korean beauty products lately and one of them is the brand, Beauty Credit. The SAs promised me that there Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch really works and can lift off blackheads and whiteheads away. For just Php 35, I gave it a try. Here’s what the package says:

Control sebum with charcoal
Absorbent charcoal removes black heads and sebum hidden in pores to keep skin clear and fair.
Healthy skin with natural nutrients
Licorice extracts with soothing effect and minerals in charcoal keep the skin healthy without irritation and Hamamelis with pore astringing effect controls widened pores, leaving the skin fair and smooth looking

Ingredients:

aqua, acrylates copolymer, PVP, PVA, silicone dioxide, PEG12, dimethicone, charcoal, titanium dioxide, bentonite, illite, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, aloe barbadensis extract, camellia sinensis, leaf extract, tocopheryl acetate, mentha piperita oil, perfume

each package contains 1 pore patch

I followed the instructions also found at the back of the package and waited for 15-20 minutes until the patch dried up on my nose. I gently lifted the nose patch and I’m surprised with the results. I never even thought that I have whiteheads that much but the evidence is on the nose patch. I can really see tiny specks of white on the patch. My nose literally felt clean afterwards.

Even my mother who is now 62 years old uses the nose patch weekly. She’s now on its 4th patch and she said there aren’t much whiteheads and blackheads now compared to her first application of the nose patch. My mother is allergic to certain smells and would immediately sneeze when something irritates her nose. But the patch’s smell is not that strong and didn’t irritate her.

I can’t seem to find the benefits of charcoal and how it helps to remove whiteheads and blackheads but I’ll leave it just that. The Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch is my holy grail for now.

My favorite spa treatment at Blue Water Day Spa

I’m one of the selected 28 bloggers who won a chance to be the first to experience the first Spa Movie Theater at Blue Water Day Spa. By just submitting my entry, Mr. Francis Simisim of TechFilipino.com included me on the list of 28 bloggers. Unfortunately, my busy schedule hindered me to go to this luxurious experience at their Greenhills branch. But I didn’t fret that much because I can still enjoy spa treatments from Blue Water Day Spa at their Mother Ignacia branch in Quezon City. This branch is a few hops away from my office and whenever I need some pampering, it’s just a phone call away for appointment and a few minutes later, I’m inside their sauna.

My favorite spa treatment is the Traditional Filipino Massage and Swedish Massage. Whenever I need some serious deep tissue massage for my aching muscles, I go for the Traditional Filipino Massage. On some days that I just need some R&R, I go for the Swedish Massage. Two weeks ago, I had my Swedish Massage courtesy of my fave masseuse, Ivy.

reception area, Mother Ignacia branch

The Blue Water Day Spa Mother Ignacia branch is maybe quite small compared to other spas but it will still make you feel relaxed with its ambiance. The lighting treatments in the spa gives you a cooling and relaxing effect already. At the reception, you will be greeted by their friendly staff, a slipper will be handed to you at once and they are also the ones to keep your shoes.

shower area

The shower, sauna, lockers and massage area is upstairs, area for guys are on the left wing while the area for ladies are on the right wing. Guys will be welcomed by the huge photo of Piolo Pascual while ladies will be greeted by Marian Rivera’s gorgeous face at the top of the stairs. Shampoo, soaps and towels are provided, other items like hair blowers, straightening irons and variety of brushes are also laid out in the counter.

Papa Piolo

The Swedish Massage is an hour-long massage consisting of soft to medium strokes on muscles. My masseuse, Ivy, did a good job I dozed off at one point. I guess having a Swedish Massage is one of the cheap thrills I can give to myself for just Php 650. Traditional Filipino Massage is Php 950.

Whenever there’s a good product or service, word-of-mouth is still a powerful tool to be known. And that’s the advantage of Blue Water Day Spa, because of the good services I enjoyed, I recommended it to my friends and officemates and even posted at Girtalk forum at Femalenetwork.com. Oh, and even our Quality Manager in the office is a frequent customer, she’s so happy with the services that’s why she gave away gift certificates for a free massage and a Foot Smoother Scrub as an incentive for quality achievers in our company.

Blue Water Day Spa is surely making it big, another addition to their branches is the Capitol Hills Branch. This 300-square feet branch just opened last January 2009, see the video of the Capitol Hills Branch below courtesy of YouTube:

V-day beauty haul: Beauty Credit and Elianto

I’m not a big fan of Valentine’s day, I’m very vocal about it throughout the years. I have that icky feeling at the thought of me carrying a bouquet of flowers on a date. Besides, Valentine’s day celebration in the Philippines has become trivial and commercialized already, peace!

We still went to the mall last Saturday just like any ordinary weekends. As expected, a lot of couples and families flocked to Mall of Asia and restaurants were crowded especially lunch time and dinner time. I’m on the look-out for a motorcycle jacket, found one at People are People but decided to let it pass. I’m still thinking whether to get the motorcycle jacket I saw from Solo or the one from People are People, we’ll see…

What I was able to score are nail polishes from Elianto and beauty products from a new Korean brand, Beauty Credit. Summer is around the corner and I’m getting tired of my clear nail polish so I bought 3D nail stickers and nail polishes in yummy colors. Nail polishes are Php 99 each.

I passed by Watsons just to buy a nail clipper but I saw the variety of Korean Beauty Products available in the store. I remembered my friend Jehan Kim who is a fan of Korean beauty products and everything Korean, she swears that Korean beauty products really works albeit expensive. I snagged some facial mask packs, Green Tea and Coenzyme Q10, from C&F brand.

C&F facial mask packs at Php 49.75 each

I was making my way to the VMV counter when the sales assistant from Beauty Credit asked me to try their products. I ended up buying these…

Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch, Mousse Pack, Powder Foundation, CoQ10 from Beauty Credit

I bought the Lovely Powder Pact Matt 23 (Natural Beige), Php 765, Royal Jelly Yellow Soil Mousse Pack, Php 713, Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch, Php 35, they also gave samples of CoQ10 moisturizer. I am amazed with their nose patch because it really lifts off your blackheads/whiteheads. I also love the Powder Foundation because it made my skin glow. The Mousse Pack really leaves my skin smooth and firm after the application. I was completely clueless on the brand before buying it so I googled them when I got home. Beauty Credit is a Korean brand and you can only find them in Watsons Mall of Asia (beside National Bookstore). They have make-up and skin care products, most of them have CoQ10. I will try to post a detailed review on their products in the coming weeks.

Not just your ordinary spa… it’s a Spa Movie Theater!

I was invited by Mr. Francis Simisim of Blue Water Day Spa to join the contest for a chance to win and experience the first Spa Movie Theater in the world! Yes, it’s the first in the world and you can be one of the few people to experience it by clicking the link to know more about the details.

Blue Water Day Spa is one of the famous spa haven in Metro Manila which offers excellent customer service and backed by their well-trained masseuse, I know because I had my massage at their Mother Ignacia Branch in Quezon City (oh and their ad with Piolo Pascual and Marian Rivera is so enticing!)

Piolo Pascual for Blue Water Day Spa

Marian Rivera for Blue Water Day Spa

I always go for a Swedish Massage to ease my shoulder pains, though I’d love to try other services. And to have my foot spa in the Spa Movie Theater at their Ortigas Branch makes me excited already!

Spa Movie Theater – first in world!

Come to think of it, having a foot spa can be such a bore especially when you’re all by yourself. You can bury yourself in magazines or better yet, bring along a friend to save you from a relaxing slumber while waiting for your foot spa session to finish. With the Spa Movie Theatre, it’s taking relaxation at the next level! You get to watch your favorite Blu-Ray movies, play PS3, sing your hearts out in videoke while making your feet happy.

One perfect plan is to take your family with the kids in the Spa Movie Theatre and have a Spa Party, you can invite maximum of 28 people from your family/clan, it’s like having a family get-together on a Sunday! Moms and Dads will have their Foot Spa treatment and enjoying chit-chats while the kids will watch their favorite cartoon/kiddie movie. It’s also a great bonding moment with your girlfriends, high school reunions and bridal showers can also be held here.

With the hustle and bustle around the city and the demands from our everyday chores, it’s perfectly okay to do something good to our body, take a long hot shower, have a massage, sip a warm cup of tea and watch a movie.

A haircut and threading experience at Acqua Salon, Trinoma

It’s payday and peeps in the office decided to hit the mall and unwind at Giligan’s. While my husband and other officemates are having their fill at Giligan’s, I decided to have some “me”-time and went to the salon instead. It’s been a while since I had my haircut and my hair had grown long just above my waist. I always go to Bench Fix for my haircut but I decided to give a new salon a try, Acqua Salon looks promising based on the reviews from other forums and blogs.

Beauty find: Smashbox O-Glow Intuitive Cheek Color

As I’ve said before, I’m a powder, cheek tint and lipgloss/lipstick person. I can do without the foundation, eyeshadow, mascara stuff. I’ve been using locally made cheek tint for years and it’s great! But I thought of rewarding myself a bit and bought the Smashbox O-Glow. It had great reviews for years now and still a bestseller of Smashbox.

It arrived in the mail and yesterday and I immediately used it. The liquid goes on clear and turns pink when applied to your skin. When blending, it feels creamy to the skin so application is a breeze. It reacts with the skin’s personal chemistry that’s why it will turn into your skin’s natural color when you “blush”. With this clear gel, it suits all skin shades and gives a unique color on different skin types. If you have the moolah and want to splurge, go ahead and buy this, it sure is worth your money!

Now, I gotta save for Smashbox O-Gloss for now, the lip gloss counterpart but the same concept as O-Glow.
