Etude House haul

Etude House opened its first branch in the Philippines at SM Megamall Bldg. A. Korean beauty product fanatics trooped to Megamall since its first opening day. Megamall is too far from my place that’s why I only get to visit the store last Saturday. Finding the store is easy, it’s located at the ground floor near Toy Kingdom. The moment I entered the store, I was awed, it’s like entering a princess’ bedroom, with insanely pink and blue interiors and girly ornaments and decorations. A princess indeed, upon entering the store, I was greeted by sales assistants clad in their pink/white uniforms with “Hello princess!”.

Choosing the right BB cream

With so many BB creams (Blemish Balm creams) out there, it’s difficult to choose the right BB cream that’s perfect for your skin and needs. I ordered different BB cream samples too but like many other BB cream fanatics, I have yet to try other brands to see what’s best for my skin. In Korea, consumers are lucky because Korean stores are generous on giving samples so they don’t have to spend in trying out products. Here in the Philippines, those samples are sell for Php 50-Php 200 pesos but it’s better than buying the whole tube which costs a little over a thousand. My fave seller of BB creams from Multiply, Trinketi, made a chart that can help you choose the BB cream that’s right for your skin. It’s very helpful that I have to ask permission from her to repost this in my blog. Please click the photos for larger view.

Beauty Credit’s Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch

Blackheads and whiteheads, especially in the nose area, are any vain person’s worst enemy! No matter how many times you get rid of them, they keep coming back. But hey, I’ve found my holy grail and I’m spreading the news! Remember those pore strips for the nose you’ve found in the malls that promises to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads but didn’t? I’ve tried any brand possible during my teenage years but all that’s left is a sticky nose with blackheads and whiteheads still.

Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch from Beauty Credit, Php 35 each

How to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads? A perennial question that requires perennial search over that one effective solution. I hope my latest beauty haul will be the answer to my problem. I’ve been buying Korean beauty products lately and one of them is the brand, Beauty Credit. The SAs promised me that there Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch really works and can lift off blackheads and whiteheads away. For just Php 35, I gave it a try. Here’s what the package says:

Control sebum with charcoal
Absorbent charcoal removes black heads and sebum hidden in pores to keep skin clear and fair.
Healthy skin with natural nutrients
Licorice extracts with soothing effect and minerals in charcoal keep the skin healthy without irritation and Hamamelis with pore astringing effect controls widened pores, leaving the skin fair and smooth looking

Ingredients:

aqua, acrylates copolymer, PVP, PVA, silicone dioxide, PEG12, dimethicone, charcoal, titanium dioxide, bentonite, illite, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, aloe barbadensis extract, camellia sinensis, leaf extract, tocopheryl acetate, mentha piperita oil, perfume

each package contains 1 pore patch

I followed the instructions also found at the back of the package and waited for 15-20 minutes until the patch dried up on my nose. I gently lifted the nose patch and I’m surprised with the results. I never even thought that I have whiteheads that much but the evidence is on the nose patch. I can really see tiny specks of white on the patch. My nose literally felt clean afterwards.

Even my mother who is now 62 years old uses the nose patch weekly. She’s now on its 4th patch and she said there aren’t much whiteheads and blackheads now compared to her first application of the nose patch. My mother is allergic to certain smells and would immediately sneeze when something irritates her nose. But the patch’s smell is not that strong and didn’t irritate her.

I can’t seem to find the benefits of charcoal and how it helps to remove whiteheads and blackheads but I’ll leave it just that. The Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch is my holy grail for now.

V-day beauty haul: Beauty Credit and Elianto

I’m not a big fan of Valentine’s day, I’m very vocal about it throughout the years. I have that icky feeling at the thought of me carrying a bouquet of flowers on a date. Besides, Valentine’s day celebration in the Philippines has become trivial and commercialized already, peace!

We still went to the mall last Saturday just like any ordinary weekends. As expected, a lot of couples and families flocked to Mall of Asia and restaurants were crowded especially lunch time and dinner time. I’m on the look-out for a motorcycle jacket, found one at People are People but decided to let it pass. I’m still thinking whether to get the motorcycle jacket I saw from Solo or the one from People are People, we’ll see…

What I was able to score are nail polishes from Elianto and beauty products from a new Korean brand, Beauty Credit. Summer is around the corner and I’m getting tired of my clear nail polish so I bought 3D nail stickers and nail polishes in yummy colors. Nail polishes are Php 99 each.

I passed by Watsons just to buy a nail clipper but I saw the variety of Korean Beauty Products available in the store. I remembered my friend Jehan Kim who is a fan of Korean beauty products and everything Korean, she swears that Korean beauty products really works albeit expensive. I snagged some facial mask packs, Green Tea and Coenzyme Q10, from C&F brand.

C&F facial mask packs at Php 49.75 each

I was making my way to the VMV counter when the sales assistant from Beauty Credit asked me to try their products. I ended up buying these…

Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch, Mousse Pack, Powder Foundation, CoQ10 from Beauty Credit

I bought the Lovely Powder Pact Matt 23 (Natural Beige), Php 765, Royal Jelly Yellow Soil Mousse Pack, Php 713, Charcoal Nose Pore Cleaning Patch, Php 35, they also gave samples of CoQ10 moisturizer. I am amazed with their nose patch because it really lifts off your blackheads/whiteheads. I also love the Powder Foundation because it made my skin glow. The Mousse Pack really leaves my skin smooth and firm after the application. I was completely clueless on the brand before buying it so I googled them when I got home. Beauty Credit is a Korean brand and you can only find them in Watsons Mall of Asia (beside National Bookstore). They have make-up and skin care products, most of them have CoQ10. I will try to post a detailed review on their products in the coming weeks.
