What’s your Speedtest.net result? PLDT myDSL vs. Globe Broadband

For the past 12 months, we’re using Globe Broadband connection as our first ISP. We were so excited because we thought we can enjoy fast Internet being a dial-up user before. Who would have thought that it’s the most disappointing experience ever! First, installation and activation took nearly two freakin’ months after we paid for their installation fee outright. Then, the agonizing wait for their Customer Service hotline is annoying not to mention their agents who have nothing to say but scripted lines from their system because they really don’t know what the hell is going on. Oh, and don’t bother to ask for their technicians to come to your house because they never show up, they were lost in cyberspace or something. Thank God the lock-in period is over and we terminated their services pronto.

Now, here comes the good news! After applying for PLDT myDSL, it took only a week for the modem to be delivered and 3 days for the account to be activated and I’m back online again, at my fastest! I only have the best words for PLDT for their outstanding customer service. Their agents really know what they’re doing and not just telling the same thing all over again. I once complained about my connection the other day and a technician came today to fix the problem even if it’s a Sunday.

So, wanna know your ISP speed? Go to http://www.speedtest.net/ and share your ISP speed. Here’s mine:

Am using PLDT My DSL and I only had one problem with it ever since. A friend of mine on the other hand whose using Globe gets disconnected every now and then while we were chatting in IM.

Good thing I switched on PLDT because I am very disappointed with Globe. A drizzle/light rain will immediately cause disconnection.
