Xiaomi, dubbed as the “Apple of China”, opened its Mi Home experience center in Hollywood Plaza in Mongkok, HK last June. I’ve been eyeing some of its products aside from its Mi power bank that’s why I secretly wished that we’ll have extra time to visit the flagship store.
Luckily, we found ourselves in Mongkok one afternoon and got nothing to do so we decided to head to Hollywood Plaza for the Xiaomi store. It’s located in the 20th floor, I thought that it’s just an office but lo and behold, it looks like an Apple store inside. Quoting from an article from Xiaomi:
Mi Home is many things in one place: a full-service repair center, an experience center for new Mi products, and Mi shop for fans to buy Mi accessories and phones!. Most importantly, Mi Home is a community hub for Mi fans to hang out, watch movies, and share stories.
Visitors can freely tinker with the Mi phones, headphones and other accessories for as long as they want.
Mi fans can get comfy at the Community Zone or sit and watch movies at one of the showrooms featuring the Xiaomi television.
Mi power banks of all varieties were sold at the store at a cheaper price so I bought another one, the slim 5000 mAh. It’s sold for only 69 HKD or roughly around Php 417. I was also tempted to buy the USB LED lights and mini fans because it’s only 25 HKD.
But you know what’s the coolest? They offer FREE laser engraving on power banks!
I asked if they can engrave the other old Mi power bank even if it’s not bought in HK and they happily obliged. One happy Mi user here! Watch the video how quick they did the laser engraving on our power banks.
I hope Xiaomi will open another Mi Home here in Manila too. But if you have time when you’re in Hong Kong, come check it out the 20th Flr, Hollywood Plaza, 610 Nathan Road, Mongkok, nearest Mongkok MTR Exit is Exit E2.
