Team treat at Napa Restaurant

We have a sort of campaign in the office and upon achieving the goal, we get to have an incentive for the team. Since I’m the one holding the money, I get to choose where to spend our money. I chose Napa Restaurant because it’s just in Scout Borromeo, near the office.

Napa Restaurant is an American-Italian restaurant. From the entrance, I immediately felt the homey yet romantic ambiance. There’s a smoking and non-smoking area.

I like pieces that add a whimsical feel to the restaurant. Just like the empty wine bottles used as lighting fixtures…

Our main dish is the Napa Baby Back Ribs, since we are 6 in the group, we ordered the Family size that comes with 3 side dishes. We chose buttered vegetables, mashed potato and coleslaw for the sides.

Napa Baby Back Ribs, Family, Php 750

The Baby Back Ribs is a must-try in Napa. The meat is so tender and flavorful. Among the three side dishes, I only liked the coleslaw.

We had the Napa Special for the pizza. It has homemade Italian sausage, bacon, pepperoni, chorizo, green and red bell peppers, black olives, onion rings, and mushroom. I like thin crust pizza, and this one didn’t disappoint because the crust has the crunch I’m looking for. The fresh basil leaves adds some freshness to the pizza.

Napa Special, Php 495

For the pasta, I asked the staff his recommendations and told us to try Pasta Gamberi. This one has shrimps in tomato-based sauce, there’s a hint of spiciness which adds to my liking. Pasta is al dente.

Pasta Gamberi, Php 320

Napa Restaurant also serves grilled varieties. We ordered Hungarian Sausage and Mixed Kebab.

Hungarian Sausage, Php 220

Mixed Kebab Platter (chicken, pork beef), Php 250

The Mixed Kebab Platter seems a bit out of place for an American-Italian restaurant but what the heck, it’s yummy anyway. Pieces of pork, chicken and beef skewered and placed in a slice of pineapple for presentation. I thought the kebab has a mix of fish too because the meat is so tender just like the ribs.

A great night like this should end on a sweet note. And Napa Restaurant is famous for its Lava Cake. You should order this 20 minutes in advance.

Lava Cake, Php 190

This is the perfect marriage of hot and cold from the hot chocolate oozing out of the cake and the generous amount of vanilla ice cream. An interplay of textures with the gooey chocolate cake and the crunchy cookies provides an adventure in every bite.
