Roomorama: home away from home

On our recent Singapore trip, we’re lucky to have a free accommodation courtesy of our friends, they let us stay in their apartment for 5 days. This made our trip worry free and economical too because we saved a lot from paying hotel accommodations. And considering the high cost of living in Singapore, hotel accommodation is relatively expensive too.

But if we don’t have dear friends in Singapore, I would have considered staying in one of the apartments listed at Roomorama.com. Roomorama has a number of listings for apartment rentals that are quite affordable, and being travelers who indulge on living like a local, it would be a nice experience for us.

The advantage of renting an apartment rather than hotels is that we can use the amenities like the kitchen so we can cook our meals, thus more savings for us. Aside from that, some apartments are strategically located at the heart of the city, a hotel in the center of everything in Singapore is very expensive like hotels in Orchard Road.

Roomorama has listings in different cities/countries in Asia, Europe and America too. This is ideal for backpackers traveling on a shoestring budget who would normally settle for not-so-good hostels because that’s what fits their budget. At Roomorama, backpackers can enjoy amenities and space like of a hotel room at a fraction of a price. With our past travels, it’s not a secret that we preferred staying at hostels, however cramped the space is, it’s always part of the adventure to meet other people/nationalities, meeting friends along the way and living like a local. And how local it can get if we tried Roomorama in one of our travels, we can get to live in a community filled with locals, not tourists. They provide a home away from home.

  1. AAH! I love this part of your post a lot, because I feel the exact same way “With our past travels, it’s not a secret that we preferred staying at hostels, however cramped the space is, it’s always part of the adventure to meet other people/nationalities, meeting friends along the way and living like a local. Also, cities like London and most Europe cities are really really expensive, so I do appreciate the stuff Roomorama is offering. I did book with them once, but my husband was afraid so we backed out and stayed in a lousy crammed hotel. I will make him read this and keep a look out for more Roomorama reviews and our next trip will definitely be a ROOMORAMA ADVENTURE! So excited!
