Razon’s: halo-halo should not be a carnival of ingredients

How do you like your halo-halo? Do you like it with lots of ingredients? Do you want it with ice cream on top? Leche flan or ube? There are so many variations of halo-halo, it can be as simple as a few ingredients just like the ones sold in our neighborhood sari-sari store or indulge in an overloaded expensive halo-halo.

Razon’s halo-halo

Who can resist halo-halo in this sweltering heat? Not me. My fave halo-halo is from Razon’s, it’s just composed of 3 ingredients, sweetened banana, leche flan and macapuno. Only 3 ingredients mixed with oh-so-fine ice shavings and creamy milk spells heaven! The marriage of the flavors of the 3 ingredients is just perfect, halo-halo should not be a carnival of ingredients. It should be just right to cool you off or for a cold dessert treat.

  3. Ohhh, same here! Razon’s remains to be my favorite when it comes to halo-halo. Very minimalist when it comes to ingredients but just as tasty as well. 🙂

  9. If you want a taste of the best halo halo, try TERESITA’s along Tomas Morato. It’s an offshoot of Teresita R. Razon’s in San Fernando Pampanga. It is closest to the taste of the original halo halo of Razon in Guagua, if it not similar.

I saw Teresita’s when we ate at Grilled Tomato, katapat lang nga sya. I’ll try them on of these days. Thanks for the suggestion. =)
