Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

2 days before we left to Singapore, we were just watching at Discovery Channel about the Marina Bay Sands. 2 days later, we are gazing at it in Singapore.

From Funan Digitalife Mall, we walked through Coleman St., passed by Esplanade Park and Makansutra Gluttons Bay only to find out that the Helix Bridge is closed that afternoon because there’s a show for youth day. So we just took a cab going to Marina Bay Sands.

In the past, the Merlion statue is the symbol of Singapore, and the Merlion statue is where tourists will pose for the camera. Not anymore, Marina Bay Sands beats the Merlion with its monumental size.

We weren’t able to go to Sands Skypark because there’s a long queue, we just roamed inside the mall and ate at Rasapura Masters. Come night time, Helix Bridge is now open. I appreciate the view more at night…

The Helix Bridge is another tourist attraction by itself, the double helix structure represents yin and yang. Aside from the double helix structure, those complicated smaller steel bars resembles a DNA structure, kewl!

We spent the entire day just roaming around the vicinity of Marina Bay Sands, aside from food and the camera purchase at Funan Mall, we enjoyed all these tourist attractions for free. Our trip to Singapore is one of the cheapest trip considering that cost of living there is high, thanks to our dear friend who let us stay at their house.

For those going to Singapore without accommodations, you can check out Pinoysg.com for cheap accommodations of try scouting for cheap hostels and guesthouses at Roomorama.
