Kimono Ken

While at SM The Block, we decided to have dinner except at Mexicali. I told Jeff our faces are already familiar there and they know our orders even before reaching the counters, haha. So we searched for our next candidate resto, we saw Kimono Ken, it’s pretty packed so the food must be good. I got overwhelmed with their menu because of the variety of choices, from the sushi, sashimi, maki, chicken/pork/beef, and ramen.

I settled for Kimono Roll, it has mango, spicy tuna and tempura.

Kimono Roll

At first, I’m not sure if I’ll order another sushi or maki because I don’t think it can satisfy my hunger that time. But lo and behold, the roll is huge. I love the generous filling of whole tempura and spicy tune inside.

Jeff ordered Shoyu Ramen. Basically a soy-based soup with beef strips.

Check out the other ramen places I’ve tried:

These are just the two items from the menu we ordered but we’ll definitely come back at Kimono Ken to try their other Japanese food.

  2. The only constant viand that I keep ordering in Kimono Ken would be their maki (any type). 🙂

  6. Whenever we are in SM The Block we cannot think of other restaurants to go to but Mexicali hahaha! Sadly daughter didn’t like their food so it’s just me and hubby. I want to try that Kimono Roll. Do they have Tonkatsu, Katsudon or Beef Curry meals? Hubby only eats that in Japanese restaurants.

  7. I would like to try Kimono Ken if and when we get to travel to Manila later this year. This is the first time I heard of this resto and will keep in in mind in case we would like to dine at a Japanese resto when we get there. 🙂

  9. Their serving of Kimono Roll is huge! I have also read your post about Mexicali, and I must agree that the interior is like a fiesta with Frida Kahlo’s paintings posted on the wall.
