HK Cheap Eats: Yoshinoya

Published by at 4:26 pm under food,Hong Kong, restaurants

For HK travelers on a budget and wondering where you can find affordable restaurants, then look for Yoshinoya. They also have KFC and McDonald’s in HK but they don’t serve rice. And Pinoys eat rice wherever we go, right? Yoshinoya also opens early, around 7 or 8 am so it’s perfect for breakfast before you head to your HK adventure.

Yoshinoya is famous for their….BEEF BOWL! Thin slices of beef over perfectly cooked rice seasoned with their signature sauce…

For the regular beef bowl with cola, I think it’s around 17-18 HKD, forgot the exact price.

From 6pm onwards, they also offer this shabu-shabu style dish with beef slices, mushrooms, noodles and veggies with unlimited broth. Perfect for HK winter weather. This is sold for around HKD 47, good for 2 to 3 persons.

With so many yummy foods in HK, I always look like the shape of steel drums upon going back to Manila.

I’ve eaten at Yoshinoya like 2 years ago. Yeah, that long! If I remember right I tried their bento box meal. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll try their beef bowl if ever I find myself there. :)

I’m leaving for HK in a few weeks’ time and look forward to the yummy finds and eats at Yoshinoya! Is there a branch in TST? :)

Hi, yes, there’s Yoshinoya in Cameron Road, TST. And plenty of other branches.

    Thank you!

I downloaded the map and zoomed in on the pics from their website. It seems the prices have gone up already (starting at 29 up) but I plan to eat there anyway. :)

Update: We did try Yoshinoya on our last vacation. The meals were super filling! The beef bowl is already priced at 30 HKD, but the serving was good for 2 very hungry people. Delicious! :)
