I also joined some 5-km races with some friends who also got hooked into running. I wasn’t able to attend the first Run United because I was already pregnant that time. It’s been 2 years since I had an active lifestyle so it’s high time for me to shed off those post-pregnancy pounds. Jeff and I are joining the Run United 2 on June 17, 2012 happening at SM Mall of Asia.

I like the Run United races because it’s sponsored by Unilab Active Health and RunRio, with distinguished brands backing up the race, it’s more organized and it’s for a cause. 2012 Run United 2 is for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga and Children’s Hour.

Kids 5 to 12 years old can register for the Ceelin 500-meter dash. Other race categories include 3 km, 5 km, 10 km and 21 km. There’s a race category for each member of the family!

Singlets will be given upon registration.

Additional items like Active Health race belt bag, bib with timing chip, and Riovana 10% discount stub can be claimed at the Run United race expo on June 13-16, 2012 at the Bonifacio Global City grounds from 12 nn to 8 pm. The race expo is a 4-day event prior to the Run United race so that runners and sports enthusiasts can check out the latest running gears, apparels and gadgets. It’s the first in the country according to Coach Rio dela Cruz but he said that international marathons like ING New York Marathon and Chicago Marathon hold one before the actual race day.

Registration for 2012 Run United 2 is ongoing at the following stores until June 3, 2012:

Honestly, when I think of coffee shops, that familiar green logo comes to mind. But did you know that before foreign coffee shops hit our shores, Bo’s Coffee already started its humble beginnings as it opened its first store in Ayala Center Cebu back in 1996.

I got acquainted with Bo’s Coffee when they still had a branch at the main building of SM North Edsa, they are situated at the garden area just before the entrance. Bought some coffee before going to work because they are already open just before the mall opens. A friend who is more adept with coffee is raving about their brewed coffee, she said that Bo’s Coffee trumps other imported coffee brands/shops.

One morning, I got to chat with other bloggers and Bo’s Coffee’s key people. We were served with their Amaretto Biscotti Froccino and Super Moist Chocolate Cake…

Amaretto Biscotti is Bo’s Coffee’s summer beverage. It’s blended coffee with biscotti and amaretto syrup topped with whipped cream, dark chocolate drizzle and crushed biscotti sprinkles. I like it because it’s not too sweet and has a nutty taste to it. The crunch from the biscotti adds an exciting treat.

From now on, if you’ll ask me where to find the BEST chocolate cake, I’ll point you to the nearest Bo’s Coffee branch. Trust me. The cake itself is full of chocolatey goodness even without the chocolate icing.

The interiors are hip and modern, anime lovers will surely love the Japanese stickers adorning the mirrors. When ordering, you should go to the counter, pay, get your number and wait for your order to be served on the table.

Chikuwa 7 Ramen, Php 129

Jeff had the spicy Chikuwa 7 Ramen, why the number 7? Because it has 7 Chikuwas or fish cakes surrounding the pile of noodles at the center. If you like your ramen to be spicy, then this bowl is for you.

Shoyu Ramen, Php 99

I had the Shoyu Ramen, non-spicy soy-based roast pork noodles. I love how tender and flavorful the pork belly is. The noodles were firm.

The servings of the noodles are satisfying, imagine having a Japanese meal for two for just Php 300! They even have rice meals for just Php 99.

Ramen X may not offer the best Japanese meal experience but is enough to satisfy my ramen cravings. The price is one main reason why I will keep coming back to Ramen X.

Cherry Mobile P9, Php 1,299

When I inquired at the Cherry Mobile store, the only color available right now is green. The phone’s features is very basic. It has a multimedia player for your music, videos and animation. The sounds may not be impressive since it’s very small unlike the sounds produced by a Genelec speaker. Other features are FM radio, Bluetooth (who uses this anyway?), calculator, alarm and calendar. It comes with a MicroSD memory expansion slot that can support up to 8 Gb. The screen is quite small, only 1-inch LCD colored display buy the keypads are text-friendly.
