Agave Mexican Cantina takes pride in serving authentic Mexican dishes in the Philippines. Our visit to their branch in SM Sky Garden at SM The Block proves it. I’m glad that there’s another Mexican restaurant that we can go to aside from Mexicali if we’re craving for some spicy Mexican food. The price is almost the same as Mexicali’s but Agave has an edge on the wide array of selections on their menu. Agave also offers cocktails and beers for late night drinking.

It was during afternoon when we went to Agave, they just opened but in the evening especially on Fridays and Saturdays, this place can get really crowded.

Now, on to the food. We ordered what we usually have in Mexicali, Chicken Enchilada and Taco Beef in soft tortilla.

Taco Beef, Php 125

Taco Beef is filled with refried beans, shredded lettuce, Mexican cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream and ground beef. The Jalapeno side salad is delish! I want one whole serving of that.

Chicken Enchilada, Php 180

Chicken Enchilada is served with the same yummy Jalapeno side salad and Mexican red rice. Jeff likes his enchilada with its enormous and tasteful filling of chicken, Mexican cheese and onions.

You’re definitely in for a yummy treat at Agave! I just hope that they would also offer extra sauces like chili salsa and sour cream to their diners so that they can adjust the flavor or add some spiciness to the dish according to the diner’s preference. When we asked for an extra sour cream, the waiter said they don’t have extra sauces to come with the dish.
